The ocean called to me this morningÂ
She reminded me of how grateful grandma was to see a new dayÂ
She reminded me of grandmaâs warmth, her gentle spirit, her smile, her laughÂ
When she told Michael, one of her care providers, thatâs my girlÂ
Yesss, sheâs my girl and Iâm her girl forever and always

Grandma,
I met this couple last night on my flight from Puerto Rico
They were so full of life and good energyÂ
The wife and I laughed endlessly just like you and I wouldÂ
We talked like old friendsÂ
She had kind, caring eyes like youÂ
She told me to continue taking adventures, that really spoke to my heartÂ
She also told me to be well and take care of myselfÂ
She said it was good that I was able to be in Indiana with you for months at time
Yes itâs one of the best gifts I could have given myself at that time
Grandma, I love to the moon and backÂ
You are my world- the sun, moon and stars

Our connection will truly never dieÂ
Writing to you and about you has become a source of healingÂ
I canât imagine never talking to you againÂ
This is how Iâll do itâŚ

Grandma,Â
When I spoke to Zelideh last night she said that my trip to Puerto Rico was a conversation with youÂ
Wow thatâs so beautifulâŚ
Thatâs absolutely how various moments on the trip feltÂ
Especially the morning I woke up early and went to the beachâŚ
Writerâs Note
Reading this entry brings me to tears. Meeting the couple on my flight from Puerto Rico was truly a gift. It felt like an encounter with my grandma, and it absolutely was.
Writing to my grandma has been one of my most beautiful ways to honor our connection, a love that will never dieâŚ
Voy a escribir y hablar de ella para siempreâ¨
El Viajeâs Origen
In every letter, I mention mi abuelaâmy heartâs song, the woman who nurtured and supported my dreams. I've come to realize that our relationship knows no bounds.
El Viaje is both a love letter and an ongoing conversation with my grandma. I began writing to her in 2020, even before her passing. I canât wait for these writings to become the book she and I always imagined!
To my readers and supporters, thank you so much for being a part of my journey!
Con Amor,
Jasmine Marie, una de Tres MarĂaâs en mi linaje
